RV PARK:  Open for business, recreation and enjoyment!

Hacienda Contreras has been open since 2007. We are located near the town of Valle de Juarez, in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. It is about 700 miles south of Laredo, Texas. If you are looking for wonderful weather, great neighbors and an economical way of spending your winter, you have found it. Come spend your winter in sunny Mexico with us, you’ll want to come back every year. We are open from October1 – May 1 yearly, but if you want to come at other times, notify us, and if we are in the area, we can open up for you.

Hacienda Contreras has large 50×70′ full hook up pull thrus and large clean bathrooms. If you would like to plant a garden, we will roto-till a spot for you. Nighttime skies are wonderful for star gazing. The small nearby lake of Valle de Juarez offers nonmotorized boat and shoreline fishing. Walking and hiking in the neighboring mountains is a beautiful way to get exercise. The people in town are very friendly and many speak good English. The plaza is a wonderful place to relax, eat, and meet the people that come to town. The nights in wintertime are decidedly cool, excellent for sleeping.  By 9 am, days are sunny and warm for the most part.

The Local Area

There are interesting things to see in the area. Rustic Mazamitla is only 5 minutes away, and many nearby towns have their annual fiestas in the winter. You will have the opportunity to see Mexico at its most authentic. Our town of Valle de Juarez, 2 km east of the RV park, has grocery shopping, and nearby Sahuayo has 2 large supermarkets. Guadalajara is about 2 hours away via scenic drives and has all the ammenities. There are many areas of interest within a 1-8 hour drive, such as the Paricutin volcano, hot water springs, the Monarch butterfly reserve, and the National Park in Uruapan.
